What started out as a casual beer sampling, catching up with friends and family, ended up with someone, possibly all of us, thinking it would be a
good idea to start our own brewery. Where angles fear to tread, fools will go. So armed with a lot of ignorance, but plenty of enthusiasm, we embarked on building our own brewery, re-engineering second hand fermenters into a brewhouse, and learning to brew. Three years of planning, building and experimenting resulted in our first 3 ales being released in October 2005. |
All our vessels are about 600litres, so we get around 500litres per brew, not much by modern standards. But we pride ourselves on making great ales, not a great amount! Always trying to improve, always trying new brews, and always trying to stay in business. Its not easy with the hefty excise tax we have to pay. That would be the main reason after 6 years we still only have our original brewhouse, and are still one of the smallest Micro-breweries in Australia. Good thing we enjoy a cleansing ale at the end of a long day. |
